Examples of Quotes -

“I have made a few mistakes early on that I admit myself, and there have been times when I have gone over the top and done things that you shouldn’t do in international cricket, but that’s how you learn.”

“The day you feel that you are not working hard and are only looking at the benefits, that’s where the problem is.”

This activity is great for individual comprehension or group work. To guide your students, instruct them to:

1. Read the quote
2. Try to understand what the person is trying to say
3. Write down what you think the meaning is or why it's important

*Extended method for further learning*
-Consider having students do it in groups. They may discuss among themselves before they write their paragraphs and their own thoughts down.
-After everyone has written and completed their worksheet, have volunteers share the quote they were given and explain how they interpreted it.

Enjoy! - Alvin
