I have gotten some kiddos that I know will be on my caseload but I do not have their IEP yet. This is a quick test to see where they are and what we need to focus on.
The test should be done one on one in some areas. Each student will have to count aloud for the teacher to mark off. This assessment is not an assignment that the teacher can give and walk away. There are areas for the teacher to mark how a student is doing his or her work.
This assessment checks understand of the following areas: verbal letter order, writing letters, writing their name, sight word fluency, nonsense word fluency, and their reading fluency skills.
** I did not include reading passages. I just go to the Library and get an AR book on each level.
