Product Description
The verb "decir" is quite a tricky one for my Spanish immersion students! Many of them have fossilized errors with the yo, tu, and el/ella forms especially. My kids need lots of opportunities to just repeat these forms correctly again and again, and these games help them practice doing this!

This pack contains two games for your Spanish immersion classroom. There are 30 cards included in each game. One is a “zip-around” type game to practice the yo, tú, and él/ella past tense forms of the verb “decir." Each student stands in a circle and receives 1-2 cards, depending on the size of the class. One student starts by reading the question on the bottom of his/her card (¿Quién dijo…?) The other students need to look at the top of their cards to see if they have the matching phrase. If they do, they should form a correct sentence with the pronoun they have and the verb “decir” (i.e. “Yo dije _” or “Tú dijiste _” or “Mi mamá dijo ____, etc.”) Then they read the bottom of their card and look for the next student.

The second set of cards is a matching game that just focuses on the tú/yo past tense forms of “decir.” The object of the game is for students to find the peer that has their matching card. They do this by asking others the question “¿Tú dijiste…?” and the phrase on their card. Peers respond to one another by saying either “No, no dije…” if they do not have a match or “Si, si dije…” if they do have a match. Once they have found the peer with the matching card, they sit down in the circle.

Lots of repetition and practice – but so much fun the kids don’t even realize they are perfecting their grammar!
