This activity utilizes is a cooperative learning strategy that comes from the Kagan strategy/activity titled "Quiz-Quiz Trade". You may also use "Fan N' Pick" which is another one of their cooperative learning strategies The content covered is wave properties which includes everything related to wavelength, frequency, amplitude, wave energy, their relationship, wave parts like rest or equilibrium, and more.
Basically it works exactly as the title suggests....each student gets a card they find another person in the room one student starts by quizzing the other using the question on their card. The other student attempts to answer, if they are unsuccessful or struggle there are hints the student can give to help. If the student still cannot answer or answers incorrectly the student quizzing should teach by not just giving the answer but describing if possible. The second student then does the same. At the end they trade cards and find someone else who has finished. I like to do this using "Stand-Up Hand-Up Pair-Up". If you are not familiar with these strategies or want more info I HIGHLY recommend going to a training near you or purchasing their literature/material.
There are 31 content slides that include a question, a hint, and the answer. Make multiple copies on cardstock if you plan on reusing them as regular copy paper gets quite beat up and does not stand up to student use across multiple classes. Each student gets a card even if multiple students get the same card as the point is to review so it is okay to have repeats as the more often they are exposed to the content the better.
I have them do this for about 15-20 minutes but this can be done multiple times in smaller chunks as well as in 15 minute chunks as there are 31 cards so students wont get to all in one session. Just watch as you will be able to tell when the students have made their rounds and have mostly been or completely been exposed to all the questions.
