This product is inspired by the Kagan Structure Quiz-Quiz Trade. I use this with my kindergartners and it has worked tremendously. My students each get a card. On the front of each card is a picture and title of each story element. After my students each have a card they walk around the room with their hand up while I play some music. When I stop the music my students know to clap hands (or become glued) to the closest student. Once everyone has a partner I have my students sit where ever they are. They then greet each other and decide who will ask their question first. The first person reads their question. " What is the ___ of our story?" The partner answers the question. If their partner gets it right they will praise the student. If the other student is having trouble the student will coach him. "Where does the story take place? Who is the story mostly about?" Then the next student asks their question. Once both students have read their question and answered they switch cards and thank them for working with them and say goodbye. Then once I see everyone has finished or almost finished I turn the music back on and they stand up with their hand up waiting to pair up with their next partner. I love this structure because it teaches social skills, and the content! The students end up seeing the cards multiple times and it really helps them learn the material. Not to mention they are getting to talk and move around. This is also great so that everyone is held accountable for knowing the material and at least trying.
