Students will practice writing quotation marks in a story. This unit works well when students have practiced writing quotation marks in sentences.
This unit includes:
Four dog stories: Stories are titled, "A Furry Puppy," "Darwin, A Gentle Giant," "A Happy Ending," and Surprise!" Students read the story and put quotation marks in the correct places in the stories. These worksheets can be completed independently or with a partner. (I had my students work in pairs.) Teacher Key is included for every story.
Quotation Mark Scoot:
This is a fun and engaging activity that gets students moving while demonstrating their understanding of writing commas, capitals, end marks and "quotation marks" correctly in a sentence. 24 task cards are included as well as writing paper for students to write their sentences. Task cards are numbered so students can match the number to the correct number on their worksheets. Detailed directions are included in the packet.
