Product Description
This quote analysis activity engages students in critical thinking and discussion based on short, complex text. Students are each given one of the technology quotes to read and write a restatement. Next, students discuss their quotes with a group. Then the teacher introduces the following belief statements: Technology benefits society, Technology does more harm than good, and Technology is what we make of it. Students must decide which heading their quote belongs under. Students then report out their quote, what it means, and how it supports the belief statement.

This activity requires students to think critically using the Informational Text and Research benchmarks based on the FCAT Test Specifications (analysis and evaluation), but are important critical thinking skills for all students!
