Are you looking to challenge your advanced students in your ELA class? Do they complete reading assignments early and find them too easy? How often do they get to analyze deep concepts that stem from universal themes?
Research shows that gifted students love to work with broad concepts and make their own generalizations. By providing them the opportunity to analyze quotes from world leaders and gifted thinkers, you will keep these students engaged and grappling with real-world issues. In this packet, the targeted universal theme is “force”, so students will gain knowledge of what force means and how it manifests itself in our world.
This packet includes 12 activities that provide one quote about force, and each activity asks 7 questions that pick apart the quote and guide the students towards understanding. As each week progresses, they will find quotes becoming more complex and difficult to analyze. You can use these for enrichment, GATE classes, early finishers, morning work, or as part of your ELA class.
Included in packet:
*instructions for implementing
*12 activities (around 20-30 minutes each)
*blank activity for you to customize quotes
