Here's a simple product to ensure students write/copy quoted material for various purposes [argument, explanatory, etc.] while understanding the need to further explain the use of quoted material. All quoted material can never really stand alone; to make use of it students need to determine the reason the quote was used in their writing piece, its significance as it relates to other ideas found in essays, and so forth. Each time quotes are used, encourage students to explain why or what the significance was, etc.
Included are 5 informational slides/handouts/posters about quotes and two types of templates that provide a place for your students to write quotes and explain their significance.
Product may be used for all subjects that require textual evidence such as persuasive or argumentative writing.
This resource now has a collect of notable quotes, and 6 different simple practice pages.
