Game 1: Trevor Travis’ Road Trip. This is great if you are targeting /tr/ blends, but can be used for any target as it is an open-ended game board. Have the student practice 3 words or make 3 sentences for a target word, then they roll dice (you provide dice and a game pawn for each player) and move that many spaces.
Game 2: Ice Cream Stack-Up. Place either or both ice cream mats (what ever you are targeting) in front of the student. After they say their target words or formulate sentences with the target word, they get to draw a colored scoop and put it on a cone. Once all their cones are stacked-up, they are the winner!
Game 3: Drat! Mix up all the picture articulation cards plus the Drat! cards and place face down on the table. The student draws a card and practices saying the word or formulating a sentence, if he says it correctly, he keeps his card. If they draw a Drat! card, they lose their entire stack! The player at the end of the game (determined by the therapist) is the winner.
Print your target sounds and play games! Articulation therapy is fun!
