Rabbit Is Sad is a story about having sad feelings and how a supportive relationship helps transform sadness into happiness. This story integrates reading and expressive skills with social emotional learning (SEL). Most importantly, the story models accepting and sharing our sad feelings.
The story uses rhyme and other sound play to help develop a number of decoding and comprehension skills. It is a read-aloud for children reading below an upper second grade level, and provides a leveled reader for beginning readers at grade 3 and above.
