Introduce, scaffold, and extend the R.A.C.E. writing strategy in grades K-4. Tiered graphic organizers allow for easy differentiation. Each step in this progressive system adds a level of complexity - and students master each element of constructed responses before moving to the next step.

With this resource, your primary students will build a strong foundation for using the R.A.C.E. writing strategy as they progress through school. Students will learn to restate questions, provide strong answers (explicit and inferential), cite evidence, and begin to explain their evidence with clear guidelines.

Included in this resource:

  • Teacher Directions & Teacher Copies of each graphic organizer - with specific student expectations for each step
  • Student Copies of each graphic organizer
  • Rubrics for each step
