RAP is an excellent acronym for students to remember while reading something they may have trouble understanding. (This is a great resource for poems and anything Shakespeare.) RAP reminds students to read twice, ask questions, and put in their own words. This worksheet is paired well with texts that might be a little hard to grasp for readers. Students will be able to have space to write the main idea in their own words as well as questions they'd like to further discuss and an easy-to-follow chart where on one side they write down what the text says, and on the other side they write down what they think it meant in their own words.
