Product Description
This item features Unit 1 “Reading Log and Reader’s Response” for the 2nd Grade Reading Street (2013) Series.

These “Reading Logs and Reader’s Response” worksheets go along with weekly skills being introduced in the Reading Street, 2013 Edition for 2nd grade, such as main idea, characters and setting.

Each “Reading Log and Reader’s Response” requires students to log their book title and minutes read each night of the week. Included are two versions of the same form, a 4 day week ( Monday-Thursday) and a 7 day week ( Friday- Thursday) so that teachers who require students to read on the weekends can use the 7 day form and those who do not require this can use the 4 day form. Parents are asked to sign each nights reading times. It also requires children to complete a reader’s response activity that is aligned to a specific Common Core Standard and the skills being taught in the Reading Street story being covered in class. Students have an opportunity to practice reading and literature standards with their own independent reading. Reader’s response questions are essential in building comprehension skills and giving students focus and purpose as they respond to fiction and non-fiction texts. The Common Core Standard is given on each worksheet along with “I Can…” statements.
