Product Description
NEVER BEFORE HAVE YOU SEEN A POWERPOINT LIKE THIS!!!

I have spent at least 16 hours creating this one PowerPoint. WHY? I have a FLIPPED CLASSROOM and understand that students must be engaged in what they see in order to want to learn. My students can't get enough of these highly engaging PowerPoint because they are all ANIMATED with VIDEO CLIPS, and done in a game style format. This can easily be used in any classroom for a fun lesson to teach this content. I also use this as a reference tool for students to continuously refer back to if they need a refresher. This helps differentiate the needs of my diverse learners.

LESSON FOCUS:
The focus of this lesson is MONITORING FOR MEANING. Students will be introduced/reminded of what fix-up strategies are, why they lose focus/get stuck when they read, and what they can do to regain that focus. They are engaged because they are detectives trying to capture the "thief that stole their attention". There are many interactive videos and animations that make them feel apart of a mystery. In addition, at the end of the PowerPoint students play a game called "What's My Fix-up?" They read different cards about problems kids are having, and then have to solve the problem with a fix-up strategy. Students are asked to independently create their own working definition of Monitoring for Meaning in a fun and interactive way.

INCLUDED INSIDE THE POWERPOINT:
*Make printables from the PowerPoint slides to help reinforce student learning.
*I can statements to help students focus their learning.
*Challenging journal questions at the end to prove student understanding.
*Student Practice: Students are given practice opportunities to help them reinforce their learning.

NOTE:

This is an ADVANCED POWERPOINT and works for computers that have PowerPoint Version 2010 or 2012.

Due to the large file size I could not get the videos and animations to work on the preview. They will all work on the purchased versions though.
