This product is designed to help you teach relative adverbs (when, where, why) and their function in adverbial clauses.
The PowerPoint introduces each relative adverb with a sample sentence and an explanation of its use in the adverbial clause. Students are required to make note cards for each relative adverb to use as references for additional activities. The slideshow also includes an interactive activity and additional partner practice. In addition, teaching tips are included as Comments for most of the slides.
There are two versions of the PPT. One is illustrated with Super Hero clipart by Revidevi and is read-only to protect the art. The other, minus the clipart, is savable. Both slideshows contain the same grammar content and interactive animation.
Also there is a practice activity, Finish That Sentence, in which students are given either an adverbial clause or a sentence beginning. Students must write a meaningful sentence using either the adverbial clause or the sentence beginning. An assessment that requires students to write sentences using the three relative adverbs is included as well.
