This product was created to give elementary students a fun way to practice their bar graphing skills. With minimal prep, your students will be taking a trip to the grocery store and recording their purchases in bar graph form. Students will have the option of analyzing and interpreting their data and practicing their addition within 1000 skills as well. This game is designed with 3rd grade CCSS standards in mind, but might also be great as an enrichment activity for 2nd graders or even a review for 4th grade students. Students might enjoy activity as practice following a math lesson, in a math center, as a guided math activity, test prep, or much more.
This download includes instructions for the teacher, student friendly instructions, a game board in both color and black and white as well as 2 different versions of the graphing recording sheet. You will need a dice or spinner for each group of students playing as well as a game piece for each student. Any small colored object that you might have around the classroom such as counters, beads, pencil top erasers, or colored paper clips might work great as game pieces.
