Youth is a major target for corporations, accounting for sales reaching billions of dollars each year. This does not take into account that teens influence their families/parents to purchase specific items as well.
Most teens rarely, if ever consider, the countries in which the products they purchase are made and the implications on price, materials, quality. Neither is consideration given to the people who make the products and their living and working conditions.
The aim of this cross-curricular unit, including individual and group activities, will develop students' awareness of these issues.
