Product Description
Do you begin the school year discussing character education traits? One of the first traits that I like to discuss with my students is RESPECT. Respect is a trait that carries through all subject areas as well as recess, and lunch. Teaching children to respect classroom routine, school rules, and each other is such an important step for creating a peaceful classroom.
In this resource, children are introduced to school routine with a discussion of the character trait RESPECT. A teacher read aloud book for SHARED READING that can be printed, laminated, and bound into a book OR projected upon your interactive whiteboard provides a perfect springboard for a discussion of respect. A simpler version of the teacher read aloud is included at the end of the resource
A discussion of anger control, personal space, conflict resolution, and respect of classroom rules is introduced in such a way that little kids can understand. Discussion cards that discuss WHAT SHOULD YOU DO scenarios make great classroom discussion starters.
A craftivity for LILYS PURPLE PLASTIC PURSE and WHEN SOPHIE GETS ANGRY REALLY ANGRY is included.
An optional RESPECT song and poster activity has been added back into the packet due to buyer requests!
