Restorative Justice is a hot topic trending in schools and is a required mandate in many states. Get a head start to solving student conflict in a positive way.
Restorative Justice focuses on conflicts between people. Whether it is a small or large conflict we should try to solve them in a proactive manner. It is important to everyone involved to feel at ease with the solution to the problem and it is important to realize our actions can affect others in many different ways. First, we need to think about who was affected and think if they may also want to fill in a Restorative Justice Dialogue Problem Solving sheet. Secondly, there is a serious of questions that may be of guidance when solving conflicts. It is important to understand what happened from everyone’s point of view. Getting our feelings and memories written down helps us make better choices and do not forget what was bothering us at the time. It is always good to finally understand if you have resolved the conflict or will need to come back to it at a later time. Sometimes it is good to rest and think about your actions for twenty-four hours. To give your brain and body a break.
