Restorative practices is a social science that can redirect unfavorable behaviors in class by providing an avenue for students to be reflective, giving them time to adjust their own behaviors. This packet is one example of how undesirable behavior can be redirected in the classroom. But, it serves a dual purpose. It also addresses some common challenges students face such as, stress, depression, and anxiety.
How to use this packet:
Create an area in your room that is "inviting" be sure to introduce the TAB (take a break) area as a way for students to refocus when the are having a challenging day. In addition to this packet, you can include stress balls and any other mindfulness activity that may be beneficial. I have included some ideas here!
Having this in my class has done wonders for my students over the years and has worked with all age groups and academic levels.
A great classroom management tool if implemented consistently.
