“Concentric Circles” is an engaging, interactive, print-'n-go game to play anytime students need a brain break, a bit of movement, a meaningful time-filler, or a quick academic assessment.
Once your students know how to play “Concentric Circles”, it is the perfect activity to incorporate think-pair-share with movement for kinesthetic learners! After pre-teaching the activity with fun, goofy, high-interest questions, you can have students circle up anytime you want to review academic content, have students re-teach concepts to one another, move concepts from short-term memory to long-term memory, summarize a reading assignment, or build connections and social skills amongst students.
Partner discussions allow students to build interpersonal skills and conversational skills, making this perfectly suited for building a sense of community in your inclusive classroom!
This activity can be used effectively with grades 5-12 in all subject areas.
