This set includes 242 rhythm flash cards organized by concept and sequenced in complexity. These are designed to print on 8 ½ x 11" paper or card stock (two 4.25 x 11" cards per page). You may also digitally project the pages to review a sequence of rhythms. All pages are hyperlinked to thumbnail images on the index pages for easy navigation. I've also included several implementation ideas/activities.
This sequenced set includes beginning to intermediate rhythms and uses best practices such as preparing students for new concepts (e.g., dotted notes, syncopation) using familiar rhythms with ties, and foreshadowing complex rhythms with subdivided beats. Cards have a small gray number in lower right corners to help you keep them organized and enable you to make note of which cards to use for a particular song, lesson, or activity.
I have used this set with kindergarten through college students (Music 1010 and Elementary Music Methods) with great success and ease. Having one full set to pull from helps me stay organized and find what I need quickly. Some features of this collection: 182 rhythm cards in common (or cut) time, 28 cards in 3/4 meter, and 32 cards in 6/8, basic/simple notation, syncopation, dotted notes, subdivided beats, and triplets. Please access the preview file to see the scope and sequence of this material.
I used my NOTE-ABLE FONT to create this document, so if you're also using it, you can email me and request the PowerPoint master template so you can edit and add your own cards. (The font is available here in my store.)
