This lesson introduces and teaches CCS RI 3.3 Describe the relationship between a series of historical events, scientific ideas or concepts, or steps in technical procedures in a text, using language that pertains to time and sequence.
This lesson introduces to students the concept of time order and sequence. They are then given passages (historical, scientific, and technical), and they have to use signal words to help determine the sequence of events, and then describe the sequence. Sentence frames are provided within the lesson for ELs and pair sharing throughout the lesson.
This lesson includes a PowerPoint Picture Presentation that introduces and teaches the concept. It includes 3 worksheet handouts that allow students to engage and write in the skill portion of the lesson.
