This unit aligns to CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RI.4.3 Explain events, procedures, ideas, or concepts in a historical, scientific, or technical text, including what happened and why, based on specific information in the text.
This document includes an example of scientific text, historical text, and technical text and questions that follow the reading of each one. The questions require the students to go back to the text to find information as well as think beyond the text to draw conclusions. The questions types include a variety of multiple choice, 1-2 word answer, and short answer.
