These articles are designed as part of an integrated literacy/Social Studies unit on Government. However, they can be used to teach text structures without a government connection. The seven articles present information in one of the four text structures included in the ELA standard (compare/contrast, problem/solution, chronology, and cause/effect). Emphasis is on the OVERALL structure of the article. Each article has a short note at the end to assist teachers who may use these as practice and/or assessment of this standard.
