Second Grade Interactive Read Alouds are here! I am working on a set for each reading standard!

Interactive read aloud lessons for THE CARPENTER'S GIFT. Just print and teach! This read aloud is designed to cover five days. Interactive read aloud lessons allow us to teach a broad range of standards. You will find that the read aloud will cover several standards, but may focus more heavily on a specific one. This will be the standard assessed at the end of the week to provide evidence of mastery for that standard. Discussions should include lots of think alouds, modeling, partner talk, and differentiation geared toward your SECOND GRADE students’ needs.

Read aloud plans include the following:

-standards covered (focus standard is to DESCRIBE HOW CHARACTERS IN A STORY RESPOND TO MAJOR EVENTS AND CHALLENGES)

-interactive anchor chart

-posters for strategies and skills covered

-a scripted daily lesson plan for each day of the read aloud (5 included)...just print and teach!

-assessing and advancing questions covering all of Bloom’s Taxonomy Levels for partner talk and whole group discussion each day

-sticky note template for questions...print your already prepared questions on sticky notes for the week!

-vocabulary picture cards and teaching routine

-reader’s response printables for each lesson (daily tasks)...written responses (making connections, character traits, problem and solution, character response), Christmas Tree craft, character response culminating task

(Each lesson meets the TN Ready and Common Core Standards.)
