PART ONE OF a series in remedial reading PowerPoint Presentation.
Finding the missing link: most remedial reading learners are deficient in one or more of the basic reading skills necessary for successful reading. The PowerPoint Presentation contains the necessary elements to assess a reader's abilities and weaknesses. Using a "student centered" approach, this program will guide both teacher and student in finding the missing skills needed to make for a successful reader.
There are two main theories for the nature of Reading: Psycholinguistic guessing game and Complex series of skills. This program encompasses mainly the mastery of the reading skills necessary to achieve comprehension. It is this authors believe that only with a sound basis in the fundamentals, will the reader be able to "guess" the meaning of any passage.
Vince Konicek, earned his Master's Degree in Educational Psychology, at University of California - Riverside. Under the tutelage of Dr. Harry Singer, Vince studied and researched the many different theories of reading, and has incorporated many into his RRR: Remedial Reading Rescue Program.
