These "Oral Presentation" and "Writing" rubrics you will return to again and again throughout the year; the presentation rubric includes assessments expected of oral presentations, such as: "presentation was lucid and well-organized" and "presentation conveyed a thorough consideration and support of the argument." And for each of the five assessments, there is an overarching criteria chart with numbers 1-5 and explanations for each number/score, as well as a final scale with comments included for a quick turn-around in your grading. The "Writing" rubric assesses the following: organization, elaboration and style, and grammar, usage, and mechanics. There is a check list under each category and a "comments" space, as well as an individual score for you to fill in and an overall score. I have included grade six Common Core Standards, but both rubrics adapt well to grades 7-12 and truly are wonderful resources for the entire year. Best, Rockermom.
