This is a script I adapted for a K-3 classroom, based on a Native American Creek/Muscogee Tribe tale that was re-told by S. E. Schlosser. This was for a puppetry performance the children were doing. Because there were many younger children and they needed to focus on their puppet performance as well, much of the story is told by a narrator, which works best if it is an older child, or someone with a nice, loud reading voice. All children have lines in this script. This is a script for 8 characters and as many narrators as you would like. Even though it was developed to be a puppet show, it would work just fine as a play with costumes. The animals can be substituted for other animals (I let the children decide which animal they would be), but you may have to change some of the lines to make them fit.
