"Race" summary: Jesse Owens is an African American track and field sensation while attending the Ohio State University in the early 1930s. With guidance from coach Larry Snyder, Owens gains national recognition for breaking numerous records.
After heated debates, the United States decides not to boycott the Olympics in Nazi Germany. Overcoming racism at home and abroad, Owens seizes the opportunity to show Berlin and the the world that he's the fastest man alive.


This movie is an excellent movie to show in school because it teaches:
- The importance of believeing in yourself
- That hard work can pay off
- To go after your dreams
- The imporance of working together as a team
-Teaches the history lesson behind Germany's discrimination against African Americans and Jews


Because of the morals and values this movie teaches, and because the questions are true, comprehension questions, you won't have to feel guilty during this movie day!

This movie is rated PG-13 and there is some language and some racial discrimination. However, with a parent permission slip, this movie is a great movie to show to grades 7 and up about an underdog who rises up against an entire country's discrimination and comes back as an American Olympic hero.
