In this math activity, students take turns adding up money (in the form of pennies, nickels, and dimes) until one player reaches $1.00. Whoever reaches $1.00 first is the winner. The activity includes a recording sheet for students to record the amount of money the spinner landed on, and the total amount of money they now have.
-Print (and laminate if possible) game board on card stock.
-Each pair of students needs one game board (It is also possible for students to play in groups rather than pairs).
-Students will need a paperclip and a pencil to use as a spinner.
-Students will take turns spinning the spinner and adding up the amounts that they spin until they reach $1.00.
