After first learning about long vowels, many students get confused about when to use a "ck" and when to use a "ke" ending. Often times we see sentences that look like "I rode my bicke to school". These writers need opportunities to explore and practice comparing words that have "ck" and "ke endings.
This easy to assemble file folder game is a fun and social way for students to enjoy practicing short and long vowel comparison work. It is appropriate for use during word study, at the end of a guided reading group for extra practice, during a literacy station, as part of an intervention lesson, and/or with a parent volunteer or paraprofessional.
Product includes game board, directions, playing cards, spinner, game pieces, answer key and optional recording sheet for written practice.
