The purpose of this activity is to review concepts presented to students as they have learned closed, VCE, and open syllables.
The concepts used in this activity are: the three syllable types, exceptions to syllable rules, "ng" and "nk" sounds, "y" as a vowel, digraphs, consonant blends, bonus letters (f, l, s) and the suffix "s".
Students are each given a matching card and, as the teacher states the concept, they find a word on their card to match. This can be done as a bingo type game, with students matching all the words on the outer boxes of their card (frame bingo). The four cards each have different words but the same concepts.
Have fun reviewing!
