This activity is related to the Hello Math Reader: Even Steven and Odd Todd.
After a review discussion of what numbers are considered even or odd, in pairs, students use dice (6-sided or 10 sided) to determine if Odd Todd or Even Steven gets to move. I used game pieces from other games or other novelty items. If a number is even, whoever ROLLED the dice, gets to move Even Steven's piece. If a number is odd, whoever ROLLED the dice, gets to move Odd Todd's piece. In this way , the partners shouldn't playing against each other.
