Radio Ambulante is an excellent podcast similar to This American Life that showcases a variety of short narratives perfect for Native Speakers or Heritage Learners that need practice with note taking from audio sources. The stories are always compelling and often pose ethical dilemas great for discussion or writing prompts. In this episode, a man is wrongfully convicted for an assault on a woman he didnt know. The Innocence Project takes up his case and 20 yrs later he is freed. Audio is 25 minutes long and 15 guided questions help students pull out details and follow the story. Assignment also includes an essay prompt for a personal reflection and an answer key. Students can complete this activity in class or listen to the podcast as homework from their smartphones.
