Robot Word Work Spelling Practice Differentiated:
Laminate these for repeated use in centers, task boxes, or as seatwork activities!
Students will have fun applying phonics skills to practice their spelling words with Radley Robot as they build each word either across or down Radley's body (up to 5 letters). This activity features built-in motivators in the form of fun "extra" tiles to finish off Radley's look after each word! *Optionally, students could write on, then wipe off each word with a whiteboard marker.
Students with ASD and other learning differences (as well as general education students) often respond better to learning activities that align with their interests or fixations. One of my students is CRAZY about robots, and any manipulative I have ever given him has somehow turned into a robot in his hands. I decided to let him take the lead, and created this activity especially for him and others like him. My student is much more motivated by Radley telling him to do spelling word practice than by his teacher telling him!
