Brought to you by KODALY MUSIC WITH MRS PERRY, this traditional song is presented with some sass!
As you sing, you have many options:
*Sing and discuss the arrangement of raindrops to lead children to find the rhythm of 'ta' and 'titi'.
*Have them write in the stick rhythm. The lightning bolts define the beats.
*Discuss the arrangements of the raindrops on the cloud lines: are the above or below? Would this be called 'high' or 'low' ('so' or 'mi').
*Find the beats, tapping the raindrops. They will light up with a sun behind them, each one representing the beat. When tapped, a gentle rain sound will play.
*When you are sure the children understand your concept, you can tap on the clouds and suddenly have a sunny day!
There is an additional page of rain at the beach. The raindrops contain the text.
*Sing the song as it is written (totally on 'so'. The children will tell you that it is not correct.
*Have them move the raindrops that should be lower, on 'mi' just down under the umbrellas. Sign and sing!
