Rainbow Chalkboard Themed Behavior Management Plan
This set includes a behavior contract including expectations, positive consequences, negative consequences.
I would set up a bulletin board titled "We are Over the Rainbow for Outstanding Behavior!"
I would create a Rainbow using butcher block paper and print one start included in this set for each student. You can either write names on these stars or use a label maker to put names on the stars and then you can use these same stars year after after. Also add velcro to the back of the stars and put velcro around the rainbow in groups around numbers 1-4 or 5. Students will start on one and then have their star moved throughout the day for good behavior. If a student makes it to the last number and all the way over the rainbow I would allow that student/s to go to the treasure box at the end of the day. I also encourage students to support one another and do a silent cheer when their friends make it all the way over the rainbow. I personally, do not start students over each day. If a student ends on 3 at the end of the day then they are still on 3 the next day. You could also put a cloud/ storm cloud if you prefer to the side of the rainbow and students that need multiple reminders to stay on task will move their star to the cloud until they can begin making good choices again and once they do they will start back over at one. I only write a note in folders if students are in the cloud at the end of the day and weren't able to start making good choices (this rarely happens, you just have to make an extra effort catching them doing something nice for someone else or getting back on track and compliment them for this wonderful choice.)
