This colorful count-a-pillar helps students learn to count forward (or backward) from 1 to 120. It can be used as a "# of Days of School" counting activity where one circle is added each day or the entire count-a-pillar can be put up at once to practice number identification and counting.

Each decade of numbers is a different color so students can easily see the similarities between numbers of the same color. There are alternate versions of the 5's and 10's numbers to make counting by 5' and 10's easier for students.

I recommend printing in color and laminating, or printing the black and white version on bright card stock and laminating.

100 can be thought of as a bundle of ten tens - called a “hundred.”
The numbers 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 refer to one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine tens (and 0 ones).
The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120. In this range, read and write numerals and represent a number of objects with a written numeral.
Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).
