This product will help your struggling students learn letters. This product was born out of necessity. I teach in a high poverty school which serves many struggling students. I created it as an intervention for my students who just weren’t getting the letters any other way. I was at a critical point with this group and had the idea to make this an incentive for them to learn the letter names. The letters are grouped in acquisition sets. I ran these off on color cardstock and laminated them for durability knowing that many little hands would be touching them.
The alphabet is broken down into sets:
A-E and a-e
F-J and f-j
K-O and k-o
P-T and p-t
U-Z and u-z
Aa-Zz mixed review set
A rainbow coloring sheet documents the students acquisition of the set of letters
in each child’s folder to help them self-monitor progress.
Progress charts are also included. You can date the spot on the chart and let the child color over the date to document progress. If you start at the bottom and have them color up, it will form a rainbow colored bar graph. A class/group chart is also included for documenting progress.
Assessment sheets are provided for each group of letters, all uppercase, all lowercase, and all letters combined.
Every child doesn’t need this intervention. In my school, most of them did this year. Wishing you the best with your students as they master this foundational skill.
