This is a really fun activity for middle-schoolers. They are given a bag of skittles (approx. 50) and are asked to calculate the percent of each color of skittles in their bag. For students who find this easy there are some challenging questions on the second page that ask them to think about how many Skittles represent a certain percentage of their total. Great activity to practice converting fractions to percentages and to gain a more solid understanding of percentages.
