Students with autism and other disabilities usually do not understand "when" something will happen. A token board is for teaching students to wait for their reinforcement. This concept is used when a studen is ready to be faded from immediate reinforcement. Each of seven circles holds a penny, button, or any other item you wish to use. The space at the bottom is for a strip of hard velcro to hold the pennies or buttons that are not used. The square is for holding a picture of what the student is "working for". Place hard velcro in each of the circles and square; soft goes on the back of the moveable pieces.
