Rainforest Animal Research Project
In this project students will gain appreciation for the animals of the rainforest, and will be informed of the various dangers that presently face these areas and the animals that make the rainforest home.
• Choose an animal from the list provided. Research about this animal and complete the attached information sheet. Students may use the books or the internet to gather their research
• Cut out the postcard. On the back of the postcard, draw a fully colored picture of the animal you selected. You may also glue colored copies of this animal to the postcard to create a collage.
• On the front of the post card you will be writing a postcard as if you are a scientist studying in the rain forest.
In your postcard make sure to include the following:
- The animal’s name, description, and where it lives.
-What this animal eats, when it eats, and how it protects itself.
-How does this animal move about in the rain forest, where does it live (underground, in a tree, in the water, etc.)
-Is this animal endangered? What dangers is this animal facing?
