Rainy Day Formulating Questions
A rainy day card game for practicing formulating questions using wh-words and interrogative reversal.
Instructions: Print the cards and if possible laminate for durability.
**Printing suggestion: Be sure to select “scale to fit paper” in the print dialogue box.
Two Ways to Play:
Pages 2-4: Place cards face down on the table. Have students select and read the card. Students then pose the question form of the statement indicated on the card.
Pages 5-20: Build-a-Sentence-Students match cards by umbrella design and reorder them to formulate either a question or a statement.
Page 21: Place question words face down on the table. Students select a card and formulate a question using the word indicated on the card.

22 different sentences to reorder by statement or question.
9 cards with question words (who, what, where, when, how, why, do, does, can).
Capital letters and punctuation are not included on the build a sentence word cards, because the placement of the capital letters is dependent on whether the sentence is declarative or interrogative. Separate punctuation cards are included for the ends of sentences.
