Music has my heart and we used this resource during rock your school week. It was so much fun writing our songs that we’ve even carried it over to our literacy stations. Thank you for the resource!

Description

It's time to RAISE the level of RIGOR...again!

We've made games...

We've launched peer tutoring...

We've done self-guided inquiry...

We've done Work It, Work Out...

Now it's time for: Creating Songs!

Anytime students are creating, they are working at cognitively complex levels. This resource will help your students create their own academic songs! My class was participating in our daily dose of YouTube videos. We were learning sight words. One of my students was frustrated because there wasn’t a song for all of our word wall words. I asked, “why don’t you just make your own?” And then it began!

We created one song as a class so that they could see how the process worked. We chose a skill to teach, a tune, and we wrote the lyrics! We added some dance moves and posted it to our private class YouTube channel!

This resource will guide your students through the song making process! To see more, click HERE!
