Product Description

These Random Acts of Kindness Task Cards make great additions to any character education or social skills program. There are 40 cards, they are easy to use, are print & go ready, and come in color and black/white! Use any time of the year, or use during the holiday season with the Kindness Elf, The Elf on the {Classroom} Shelf or any other Elf. Watch preview video above.

  • Students/children may read and discuss random acts of kindness (R.A.K.) in pairs, groups, in centers, as a class, or with an adult before actually carrying out the act. Encourage children to determine which R.A.K. they would like to do, and make a plan of action.
  • Give students/children a R.A.K. at the beginning of the week or day. Ask children to complete the task, and share about their experience the next day, or at the end of the week. Rotate R.A.K. cards daily or weekly.
  • Students/children may role play (or actually do) a R.A.K. with each other. This may be done in pairs or groups, or with an adult. Discuss facial expressions, body language, manners, and actions shown by the participants. Discuss the impact this type of communication/behavior has on kindness. Educators may pick a few pairs or groups to role play in front of the group or class.
  • Educators may choose a few per day to begin a classroom discussion during a morning meeting or anytime. Encourage students to share ideas on how to accomplish the R.A.K.
  • Use as writing prompts for individual work. Students may write about how they plan to execute a R.A.K. or how they already executed the act. They may also write about how it will feel, or has already felt to accomplish the R.A.K.
  • Use with small groups. Each group receives one task card and one poster board. Students work together to draw pictures of ways to execute the R.A.K. on the card. Each group presents the poster to the class and discusses their plan of action. Students are expected to do the R.A.K. (Use thought provoking R.A.K. cards)
  • During the holiday season, a Kindness Elf, The Elf on the {Classroom} Shelf or any other Elf may leave a random act of kindness card daily for children to find and complete.

*Laminate and use again and again. Store in an envelope, bag, folder, or hole punch corners and attach to a ring.
