No matter what time of year, reminding your students how far small random acts of kindness can go is important! (There is an actual "Random Acts of Kindness Week" in February by the way!)
Sometimes we can feel our students almost getting tired of being in the same room as each other, and an activity like this can remind them that being kind is always cool!
Your students will become secret agents who are given a mission...of kindness! They will be given a letter with their mission, a brainstorming sheet, and a recording sheet. The students are encouraged to brainstorm targets and locations for their acts of kindness. This is to help them think outside of just school or home!
Included in this pack:
* Teacher Notes - Ideas for how to present the "mission" to the students
*Mission Letter for your Students (blanks left for number of random acts of kindness and day/date due, just fill in and copy!)
*3 Sizes of "Labels" for Mission Envelope
*Brainstorming Sheet (2 versions - 6 rows and 12 rows)
*Recording Sheet (2 versions - 6 rows and 12 rows)
*"Mission Report" Writing Activity Information Sheet with rubric for self-evaluation for students (2 versions, each with a different rubric so you can choose what best fits your style!)
*Grading Rubrics for the Mission Report Writing Activity (2 versions, one for each version of the rubrics)
*Lined Paper for Mission Report Writing Activity/Reflection
- One with simple doodle border
- One with houndstooth border
- One blank for bordered paper
This is definitely a community building activity to help your students see the value in the little things we can do to brighten each other's days!
