In this activity, students learn Spanish numbers 11-20 out of order and are more easily able to associate the Spanish word for the number with the numeral itself. This helps students automatically perceive and produce numbers they need instead of having to count their way to the number their looking for. The teacher starts with one number, then adds an additional every 5-10 sequences. A new number will then be added to the sequence, but numbers are never taken away. This can be done using whiteboards and dry erase markers, or pieces of paper with the numbers written on them. This PowerPoint enables the teacher to do this activity with no prep! All you need to do to have an answer key is have the presenter view on your computer or print the PowerPoint and keep a hard copy on hand (I suggest 9 slides per page). This activity would also work for any other language using the same numerical symbols, just switch out "Los números" for the numbers in the appropriate language. After reading out the sequence the teacher can then display the correct sequence for students to check their answers. Appropriate for any age learning a new language.
