This is a 76 page packet with 72 pages of activities for Kate Messner's book, Ranger in Time; Danger in Ancient Rome. It is designed for grades 2-5 with differentiated rubrics for each grade. Activities can be done small group or whole group, and may be used as differentiated instruction and enrichment activities for 2nd grade. Read below to find out what you will get!

Items included:

Book study—Questions for each chapter that can be used to lead a whole group discussion or small group discussion.

Narrative writing project with three parts: Students write the next chapter in the lives of Marcus and Quintus. Next, students will create a project based on their interests (news report, play, song, etc.) in which they will deliver the events of their chapter to the class, and their presentation. Rubrics are included for all three parts.

Rubrics which are differentiated by grade level or all parts.

Informational writing project with three parts: Students research Roman gladiators and write a paper with their information. Next, students will create a PowerPoint or Google Slides presentation to deliver their information to their classmates and lastly students will present their project to the class. Rubrics are included for all three parts.

Venn Diagram to compare and contrast Marcus and Quintus.

Blank Venn Diagram to use as you need for your class.

Point of View comparison in two different formats for students to compare the points of view of Marcus, Quintus and Villius.

Vocabulary organizers in two different formats (Frayer model and pages with boxes for word, definition and sentence.

Cause and effect pages in different formats as well as blank models with each format.
